I was debating between doing an “Outfit of the Day” post or a weekly Friday Favourite post. Clearly, I went with the latter, because a) posting everyday is too much effort for everyone involved (if you wanna see my #ootd, it’s normally on the ‘gram in my stories, anyway), and b) I don’t usually use my DSLR for photos of my outfits, so the quality isn’t as good, and there would just be a bunch of subpar photos. Travis says I need a new phone purely for camera purposes, so if you know Trav, you know that the quality difference is srs bizness (and if you don’t – he hates being photographed, but apparently hates being photographed with a poor quality camera even more).

Anyway, here’s what I’m loving on this week!

People Footwear

I’m obsessed with this brand; we got William a pair of the Ace style in Yeti White from Little Bean & Co. back in April, and they’re amazing! William can get as dirty as he wants (which is v dirty) and we can just wash them in the kitchen sink with soap and water. Yippee! They’re SO LIGHT and SO SOFT. Whenever Travis puts William’s shoes on, he’s like, “these are so soft, I want some!”

William loves them because he can put them on himself, and it doesn’t bother him at all when he’s playing in dirt, sand, or water (all three of which he does pretty much every day). And I love them because they’re neutral and still super stylish; they go with almost everything in his wardrobe!

So for Father’s Day, guess who got some cool new stylin’ sneaks? That’s right, Travis did. And guess who bought herself a matching pair because she just couldn’t resist? That’s right, obviously I did. I bought both of us the Phillips Knit; Travis’ are black, and mine are white – we like neutrals and monochrome in this house.

I’d also like to point out I got him other presents and it wasn’t just me going shoe shopping and being selfish, I swear. We’ve both been eyeing them for awhile, and the only place I could go to get them is about a 40 minute drive from us, so I didn’t want to take two trips if I didn’t have to!

Phillips Knit size M12/W14 in Really Black

I was originally going to purchase the Phillips when I went to MEC Langley, but I wanted to try them on and see if they fit true to size or not. I’m a size 6 or 6.5 (yes, I have really small feet, and apparently it’s a dominant gene), but I have wide feet, so depending on the shoe, I have to wear a 7. They didn’t have a women’s 6 in stock, but I tried on the 7, and I felt that the Phillips didn’t really have enough give because of the structured top of the shoe. I then tried on the Knit, and it had way more give because the knit is super stretchy, so I decided to go with those! They don’t have half sizes, but the size 7 fits me well. Travis wears a size 12 normally, and the size 12 fits him perfectly!

These shoes are so light, it honestly feels like I’m walking barefoot when I wear them. However, I didn’t wear socks with them the first time I wore them (they’re super breathable so you don’t have to), but I did end up getting teeny blisters on my ankles from where the knit was rubbing. I’d definitely suggest socks when breaking them in!

I’ve got my eyes on the Stanley Knit for my next People Footwear splurge, and the Lennon are super cute, too!
